Real Waterproofing Starts on The Outside of The Foundation
Great Lakes Waterproofing has been serving Roseville for close to 18 years! Specializing in exterior waterproofing, our waterproofers stop water before it enters cracks and holes, moving through your walls. Using bentonite and our exclusive pumping system, our waterproofers create a barrier for water stopping it before it creates more damage to your wet basement walls.
Roseville is a great Minnesota City but they have ground that holds a lot of moisture and the older homes can have wet basements.
Driving around you'll notice a lot of homes have very long extensions on the gutter downspouts, this may work great with smaller rain storms but once the spring thaw or larger rain storms hit, a better approach is needed to stop water.
This homeowner had to remove insulation panels to track down the area the water was coming into this wet basement, this can be a real issue because the paneling and insulation usually end up in the trash.
Great Lakes Waterproofing does most of the work outside, stopping water in it's tracks.
This inside of the wet basement will look like the previous photo and we typicall see this on the outside, a large vertical crack that will go from the basement floor to the ceiling.
In most cases the white spackle finish is cosmetic but there are usually cracked blocks underneath. Notice how close the downspout is?
Most waterproofings don't care about exterior holes or cracks, a drain-tile system collects everything and pumps it outside where it's free to come right back in.
Great Lakes Waterproofing believes in Real Waterproofing, sealing up the foundation, stopping water before it can move through your walls.
This Roseville Home had water coming from behind the wall, draining into the basement floor drain.
A drain-tile waterproofing system could be installed but what if the water is coming in higher up on the foundation, the drain tile will not collect that. This basement also need additional support (the metal post), most likely due to water eroding away outside foundation materials.
Stopping the water outside, preventing it from building up in this area is more important. Slowing down long term damage will help prevent future foundations issues.
Why keep bailing water if you can stop it before it moves through the foundation?
